Fire breaks out at Noida high-rise, no casualties reported
Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot and firefighting operations are underway.
Panic ensued after a fire broke out at a flat in Aranya Society in Sector 119 on Monday.
Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot and firefighting operations are underway. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Sector 113 police station, news agency ANI reported.
No casualties have been reported so far, and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Chief Fire Officer Pardeep Kumar says, "The fire was contained to the flat and prevented from spreading with the help of three teams of Fire personnel, six fire engines; an ambulance and teams of police were also deployed here. The affected family had informed us of a fire in their AC. They had vacated the flat as soon as the fire broke out."
UP CM orders rescue efforts
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took stock of the incident and instructed officials to rush to the spot to oversee relief and rescue efforts.
"The Chief Minister ordered the acceleration of relief and rescue operations and directed that proper medical treatment be provided to the injured. Instructions were issued to the administration to exercise vigilance at all levels," the CMO said.
He also directed officials to continuously monitor the relief operations and ensure that all those injured receive proper medical care.
Fire at Delhi's Keshav Puram
In a separate incident, a fire broke out out at a four-storey residential building in northwest Delhi's Keshav Puram area in the early hours of Monday, according to PTI.
Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received a call regarding the blaze at around 2.03 am, following which, two water tenders, two water bowsers and a quick response vehicle were rushed to the spot. The blaze was brought under control by 2.30 am.
Three residents, namely, Gaurav (28), Kaira (25) and Indu Batra (55), were rescued from the terrace, PTI reported. No injuries were reported in the incident, the fire department said.
According to a DFS officer, the fire was confined to 24 electric meters installed on the ground floor of the building, which comprises a ground floor and four upper floors.
