Eight passengers were killed, and 11 were injured when a bus on its way from Rishikesh in Uttarakhand to Madhya Pradesh’s Indore collided with a trailer truck and caught fire on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway in Rajasthan’s Dausa around 3:30am on Wednesday.

Dausa district collector Saumya Jha said there were around 37 passengers on the bus, and prima facie, the driver lost control, hit the trailer, and the bus caught fire. Jha added that around 25 passengers were rescued safely.
Murari Lal Meena, the Congress member of Parliament from Dausa, who rushed to the scene from Jaipur, said 11 passengers are undergoing treatment.
He added that one injured passenger was referred to Jaipur in a critical condition. Police said the passengers mostly belong to Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
