‘Those who’ve not respected friendship of 25-yrs will dump Ajit Pawar too’: Sena stings BJP
The Sena in the editorial said that first the BJP lost a “friend” like Shiv Sena and then Fadnavis took oath like a “thief”. “The BJP and Fadnavis were under the illusion that Ajit Pawar will split the party and go to BJP with 25-30 MLAs... The truth is that Ajit Pawar’s rebellion has failed,” it said.
The Shiv Sena on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and said that those who did not respect their 25-year-old friendship with the Sena will dump Ajit Pawar as well.

An editorial in party mouthpiece Saamana, the Sena said that Pawar’s rebellion has failed and that the ‘pedas’ (sweets) that the BJP leaders shared with each other have not been digested yet.
The Sena attacked the BJP and said it has dealt with people wearing “masks”. “Those who have not respected friendship of 25 years will dump Ajit Pawar too,” the editorial said.
In an unexpected and surprising turn of events, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were sworn in as chief minister and deputy CM respectively by governor BD Koshyari early morning on Saturday, a couple of hours after the lifting of President’s Rule in the state.
Meanwhile on Monday, a delegation of NCP, Shiv Sena and the Congress went to the Raj Bhawan and handed over to the Governor’s secretary a letter which had, it claimed, the signatures of 162 MLAs supporting it.
NCP leader Jayant Patil, addressing media outside the Governor House, said, “The Devendra Fadnavis government doesn’t have majority. We have the support of 162 MLAs including the members of smaller parties and seven independents. We suspect that Fadnavis will recommend dissolution of assembly after losing floor test, so we are staking claim.”
Also on Monday morning, the Supreme Court resumed its hearing of a joint petition by the NCP, Sena and Congress challenging the governor’s decision to invite Devendra Fadnavis to form government in the state. After hearing arguments from all sides, the apex court reserved its ruling on the floor test for 10:30am on Tuesday.
