Three killed, at least 5 injured in Vizag building collapse

At least three persons, including two teenagers, were killed and another five people sustained severe injuries after a three-storeyed building collapsed in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam on Thursday, police said.

Police said that the incident took place around 1.30am.
The deceased were identified as Chotu (27), a migrant worker from Bihar, a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl of the same family.

He said that after the collapse, the locals rushed to the spot and took up rescue operations. And soon after receiving the information, the police, along with a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel and fire service personnel rushed to the spot.
Upon reaching, they found at least eight people, including Chotu, on two floors of the collapsed structure of which five were critically injured while two were declared on the spot.
“The injured were rescued from the debris and shifted to the King George Hospital. Their condition is stable,” the DCP said.
