Army sources said on Wednesday that acting on an information that arms were easily available there, AIU officials, posing as buyers, contacted the suppliers through a source.

While AIU officials were taking the delivery of the arms on Tuesday, the local police, which accompanied them, arrested four persons three of whom belonged to the same family.

Twenty-seven revolvers and nearly 500 rounds of ammunition were seized from the arrested.

They were taken to the Eastern Command headquarters in Kolkata for initial interrogation and later handed over to the police.
