The girl was alone at home as her family members were out for a wedding that required them to stay overnight.

The girl told the police she was sleeping when Singh made a forced entry into the house, gagged her and then raped her.

When her parents returned early on Monday, they found her unconscious and bleeding. On regaining consciousness, she told them about the incident.

The family took her to Swaroop Nagar police station to lodge a case. The police raided Singh’s house and took him into custody. They have launched an inquiry. However, no case was registered till noon.
