Barnala in judicial custody till September 25

Gaganjit Singh was arrested by police on August 12, after his maid alleged that he raped her.

A local court on Monday, again remanded Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) legislator Gaganjit Singh Barnala, charged with rape, to judicial custody till September 25.

The order was pronounced by Judicial Magistrate Hareet Kaur. Gaganjit Singh, who is an MLA from Dhuri constituency and the son of Tamil Nadu Governor Surjeet Singh Barnala, was arrested by police on August 12 after his maid alleged that he had raped her.
