An abandoned bomb-like object found in a city bus on Saturday sent the police into a tizzy before it turned out to be a prank played by some miscreants to create a scare.

The driver-cum-conductor of the bus from Majestic area, on reaching its destination Doddakannenahalli, noticed a bomb like object covered in a plastic cover with some wires protruding from it. By then all the passengers had alighted.

The driver boldy removed the cover out of the bus and alerted the police, who rushed sniffer dogs and bomb disposal squad.

Police found that the bag contained a tin, a bottle of vodka and some electric wires and see it as an attempt to create a scare among the travelling public.
