Cylinder bombs planted at railway tracks recovered

Maoists bid to target Rajdhani Express and other important long distance trains was foiled early on Thursday after Bihar police detected cylinder bombs planted near the railway tracks at Deo halt between Gaya and Mughalsarai rail section.

Maoists bid to target Rajdhani Express and other important long distance trains was foiled early on Thursday after Bihar police detected cylinder bombs planted near the railway tracks at Deo halt between Gaya and Mughalsarai rail section.

“The bomb seems to have been planted around 1.30 am and it was detected within an hour during search operations by security forces,” said rail SP Upendra Kumar Sinha. Another bomb was recovered near Dharmpur-Natrayan village on Muzaffarpur- Sitamarhi rail section late on Wednesday night after a bomb planted by Maoists went off.

In Gaya, Maoists attacked two mobile towers around 50 kms from the district headquarters ahead of two election rallies by the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
