The sarcastic comment of Tharoor betrayed his contempt for the poorer sections of people and reflected his "five star" culture, the DYFI state secretariat said in a statement.

It was strange that the Congress party had not even bothered to seek an explanation from Tharoor despite his "cattle class" remark, which drew flak from different quarters, DYFI said , addding that the Minister should apologise for what he had said.
