But together, Abhishek Bachchan and Vivek were quite a handful at the wedding of Bunty’s director friend, Shaad Ali, son of Muzaffar and Subashini Ali with Shazmeen, from the prominent Habibullah family of Lucknow.

They were star attractions all right, but on Saturday evening, Taj certainly was not bereft of celebs anyway. There was Congress MP, Rajeev Shukla, IAS officers, well known fashion designers like Asma Hussain, Governor TV Rajeswar, Raja Mahmudabad, General Sami, member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Naseem Iqtedar Ali besides so many other prominent names.

The Taj lobby resembled a wedding ‘mandap’ with Meera Ali whose Kotwara Label has been a hit with celebs across the country and beyond personally taking care of the décor at the five star hotel where celebs in Sherwanis and other choicest outfits descended to make it a truly regal affair.

Shaad’s wife looked regal in her paternal grandmother’s antique farshi gharara. Subashini Ali looked regal in her gharara.

Everything about this Saturday wedding had a typical Awadhi touch to it.

The dresses depicted thus and so did the food which was an assorted menu of kebabs—nukhti kebab, galaouti and nargisi koftey along with the qormas, biryani, shahi tukdas and the rest of the Awadhi cuisine. On Sunday a reception is expected followed by another one specially for Shaad’s Bollywood
guests once Shaad reaches the tinsel town.
