Hammer thrower Murofushi waiting on gold medal
Japanese hammer thrower Koji Murofushi said Wednesday he's waiting for the gold medal awarded to him after Hungary's Adrian Annus was stripped of the top prize for refusing to take a follow-up drug test at the Athens Olympics. "I'm waiting," Murofushi told reporters Wednesday at a reception honoring Japan's medal winners. "The International Olympic Committee is working on this so there's nothing I can do but wait."

"I'm waiting," Murofushi told reporters on Wednesday at a reception honoring Japan's medal winners. "The International Olympic Committee is working on this so there's nothing I can do but wait."
Annus vowed on Tuesday to keep his medal and reiterated his decision to retire rather than deal with what he called a campaign to manipulate test results against him.
Murofushi, who won the silver medal in Athens, returned to Japan on Tuesday, wearing a gold tie as he walked through the arrivals lobby at Tokyo's Narita Airport.
