Munni Devi (29) died when her father-in-law Amar Singh (52) struck her with a hammer at the village, about 26 km from Rewari, police said.

On a complaint filed by the woman's husband Sunil Kumar, the police have booked Amar Singh on murder charge.

Singh fled soon after the incident, they said.

According to the compliant, when Munni was busy bathing her children in the morning, Singh asked for the keys of the main chamber of the house.

However, when she insisted on handing over the keys after finishing the task, Amar in a fit of rage hit her on head with a hammer resulting in her death, police added.
