 Test Debut: Against India at Wellington in 2002/03
 ODI Debut: Against Zimbabwe at Wellington in 2000/01
 Bats: Left Hand Bat
 Bowls: Right Arm Medium

Oram made his one-day debut against Zimbabwe at the beginning of 2001. Although he did not get to bat, his bowling and good fielding helped New Zealand to an eight-wicket victory.

He performed a hero's role to perfection during the Tests series against India. With the ball, in the absence of Chrisd cairns, he scalped big wickets including that of Tendulkar.

He ended scoring winning runs in the second test when New Zealand looked in spot of bother. He  showed great temprament in the one day series that followed doing the needful again.

He has added a yard of pace to his bowling and took his first one-day five-wicket haul in the recently concluded one-day series versus India.
