Kheer Bhawani fest: Jagti tenants rue inadequate facilities

During the meeting, the participants expressed concern over the failure of the government in making proper arrangements for the pilgrims of Kheer Bhawani at Tulmulla in Ganderbal. They alleged due to lack of proper arrangements, the pilgrims had to face a lot of difficulties.

They further alleged that the operators of the buses, mini-buses and other vehicles carrying devotees from Jammu to Tulmulla Kashmir were charged excessively at toll posts. The participants said the protest at Tulmulla by the devotees was only because of the hardships being faced by the inmates of Jagti township at Nagrota who have been facing 16 to 18 hours power curtailments for past more than two years which has made the inmates of this migrant camp to suffer hard.

They added if the government did not mitigate the sufferings of the inmates of the migrant camp immediately by restoring proper power supply, the inmates will be left with no alternative but to start agitation.

The members welcomed the assurance made by union minister for health and family welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad to visit the Jagti migrant camp to assess the situation.
