India have recorded only one win in their five pool matches and finished fifth in the standings with three points.

They now play South Africa for the 9-10 positions Friday. The Indians on Tuesday held New Zealand goalless in the first half.

However, the New Zealand team led by skipper Kayla Sharland ran amok in the second half and wrecked Indian hopes. Sharland (44th and 55th minute) and Katie Glynn (51st min) were the goalscorers for New Zealand. New Zealand now play China for 7-8 positions.
