The motion was adopted by a voice vote after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's 40-minute reply to the discussion on the address.

Last year, the motion was not taken up for discussion as the first session after the General Elections was completely paralysed by the BJP-led opposition on the issue of tainted ministers.
