Meningitis vaccine administered to 1.73 lakh children

Around 1.73 lakh children were administered anti-meningitis vaccine during a camp in Beed, an official said. The meningitis vaccination camp in the district is being held in view of 1665 deaths caused due to Japani Meningitis in 2005 in the state, district child and women welfare officer, Swapnil Lale said on Wednesday.

The camp will continue till July 22, he said. Still 4084 are yet to be vaccinated, he said adding that it would be ensured that each child between 2 and 15 years gets the vaccine.
