Talking to mediapersons, Yadav admitted that laxity in duty on part of the police officials resulted in the clash between two gangs.
He claimed that he had expressed his apprehension and directed the police and district officials to make appropriate security arrangement at PWD office.
He further demanded arrest of the accused in the case and said on the day of incident, Lal Bahadur Yadav accompanied him to Lucknow. It is noteworthy that BSP leader Vinod Upadhyaya who is leader of a gang has levelled serious charges against the state minister and blamed him for providing shelter to the miscreants.
Meanwhile, police have identified the name of leaders of two gangs and other members of these gangs involved in the clash. According to the police, Vinod Upadhyaya leads one gang and Ajit Shahi is the leader of another gang. SSP Raja Srivastav handed over the case to Special Operation Group of police and three-circle officer have been deputed to work out the case and to identify the miscreants.
Raja denied that Lal Bahadur Yadav was present on the spot at time of firing.
He also said that Vinod Upadhyaya was also not present on the spot when the incident took place.
