Mufti condoles Fotedar's death in Mt Everest avalanche

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has expressed grief over the death of Kashmir-born mountaineer Renu Fotedar in the avalanche triggered by the earthquake in Nepal at Mount Everest base camp.

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has expressed grief over the death of Kashmir-born mountaineer Renu Fotedar in the avalanche triggered by the earthquake in Nepal at Mount Everest base camp.

In his condolence message, Sayeed expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul, an official spokesman said on Wednesday.

He also expressed grief over the death of Mohammad Yousuf Shah, former Chairman of J&K Cooperative Bank and father-in-law of Minister for Public Works Syed Altaf Bukhari.

Sayeed paid rich tributes to the deceased and described him as a noble soul who was well-known in social circles for his kind-heartedness.

The chief minister expressed sympathies with Bukhari and prayed for peace to the departed soul. Several other ministers including Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh also condoled Shah's death.
