Over 1,000 delegates from Malaysia, Singapore, Italy and Australia are expected to attend the conference, V P Seemandini, President, All India Federation of Women Lawyers, told reporters.
She said the first 'Stree Vakil Puraskar', to honour outstanding women lawyers, will be presented to Justice M Fathima Beevi, the first woman judge of the Supreme Court, by CJI K G Balakrishnan at the inaugural function.
The award will also be presented to Saraswati Devi, senior Advocate, Malaysia, who is the former President of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) in the presence of Stella Ogbuma, President FIDA, she said.
Kerala Governor R S Gavai, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, Union Law minister M Veerappa Moily and Chief Justice of Kerala High Court S R Bannurmath would also participate in the conference.
