Prison turns exam centre for UP board exams

As many as 29 prisoners from five prisons are appearing in the ongoing high school and intermediate examination being conducted by UP Higher Secondary Education Board at Dasna here, police said on Friday.

As many as 29 prisoners from five prisons are appearing in the ongoing high school and intermediate examination being conducted by UP Higher Secondary Education Board at Dasna in Ghaziabad, police said on Friday.

Examinees from Meerut, Saharanpur, Bulandshar, Muzaffarnagar and Ghaziabad prisons have been transferred to Dasna, as the board has set up a special exam centre in Ghaziabad, District Jail Superintendent Dr Viresh Raj Sharma told PTI.

An examinee Vikash who was released from Muzaffarnagar jail on bail, is also appearing in the high school exam in the jail, added Sharma.

Out of the 29 examinees, 17 are appearing in intermediate and the rest in high school exam, he said, adding no woman examinee is appearing in any exam.

All the examinees are kept in separate cells and are provided with books and stationery for the exams that commenced on Thursday.
