To encourage saving habit among students, private sector Catholic Syrian Bank on Tuesday announced launching of a new 'Students Support Savings Scheme' from Wednesday.

The scheme envisages opening of savings bank accounts by students on zero balance basis at all the branches and issue of free ATM cards wherever feasible, UR Giridharan, Zonal Manager of the bank, told reporters.

The students from standard IX onwards till final year of diploma, graduation and post graduation would be eligible for the scheme, he said, adding the accounts can be opened without any first remittance and there would be no stipulation regarding minimum balance.
