The ministry of overseas Indian affairs has introduced a scholarship programme for diaspora children to study at higher and technical institutions in India.

The Educational Consultants India Limited (Ed CIL), a government of India enterprise, is designated as the nodal agency for implementation of the scholarship programme.

Ed CIL will provide all assistance required before and after the admission. Each student admitted under the scholarship programme will be provided financial assistance up to $1,800 (Rs 80,000).
