The minister was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Friday night after he complained of uneasiness and chest pain and was taken to the Intensive Care Unit, according to reports.

Tharoor is now out of the ICU and is in a normal ward at the hospital, reports said.

Tharoor's wife Pushkar was found dead in a Delhi hotel late on Friday, a day after her Twitter spat with a Pakistani journalist over an alleged affair with the minister.

Pushkar, who had business interests in Dubai and was the Congress minister's third wife, was found dead in suite number 345 of The Leela Palace around 8.15pm.
