Singh stated that the government was delaying compensation for refugees, which would result in its downfall in the forthcoming polls.

Singh said the UPA government had approved the 1947 POK refugee packages but the Omar Abdullah government had not approved the same in the legislative assembly, which reflected the government's anti-Jammu policies. He said refugees belonged to the lower economic strata, adding that those residing in camps faced several problems such as lack of proper road infrastructure, education and medical facilities.
