The government must take the Chinese threat more seriously

This refers to the report Our army way behind China’s: Indian general (January 23), which raises serious doubts about our national security. If the army chief himself admits to inferior defence infrastructure in the country, then very little needs to be said about the internal security of our nation. It’s true that while roads on the Chinese side are made of metal, the ones on the Indian side pale in comparison. Even their areas of commercial transaction are much superior to what we have. It’s time the government took the Chinese threat seriously and beefed up security.
