Two FIRs lodged against Pappu Yadav

Two FIRs were lodged against controversial RJD MP from Madhepura Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav and over 30 supporters in separate police stations in Purnia constituency for alleged violation of the model code of conduct for elections.

The first FIR was registered with Banmankhi police station for violating the code by leading a motorcycle procession without the permission of the Election Commission or the local administration, official sources said.

It was registered on the basis of a report by Banmankhi sub-divisional magistrate Keshav Kumar Singh.

Another FIR was recorded with Kodha police station on identical charge.

Pappu’s mother Shanti Priya is in the fray for the Purnia seat as a Congress-backed independent.

His wife Ranjeet Ranjan is fighting elections from the neighbouring Supaul constituency on Congress ticket.
