A group of students from a US school have pitched in to help put up a makeshift 100-bed shelter for pilgrims at the Ganga Action Parivar Relief Camp organised by Parmarth Niketan. The shelter has saved the pilgrims the trouble of crossing the Ram Jhula to reach an ashram.

“We had come on a trip to Haridwar and were staying at a resort near ganga. We were invited to the ashram in Rishikesh. We decided to join in the relief mission,” said Richard Feller.

The American students have also been clearing litter and helping people get free tickets to go back home.
