The victim, Kamrunisa and three others of her family were crushed by a dumper after they refused to serve water to the driver of the vehicle. The angry driver, in a fit of rage, crushed their shop on Gurgaon-Bhadkal Road on Wednesday night. Surprisingly, the police are yet to arrest the driver for committing the crime.
The incident occurred around 10pm on Wednesday, when some people, including the driver of the dumper, asked a shopkeeper to bring them water inside the dumper parked nearby.
The family has alleged that the group led by the unidentified driver were drinking alcohol inside the dumper at that time.
Police said that driver the crushed the shop, leaving four of the family members injured. They were immediately rushed to a local hospital, where two of them - Kamrunisa and Mehboob - were undergoing treatment.
According to police, Kamrunisa was later referred to the Safdurjung Hospital in Delhi.Police said two other family members - Hakim and Israil - were discharged the same night.
"We came to know this morning that Kamrunisa succumbed to injuries late on Friday night at Safdurjung Hospital in Delhi," Roshan Lal, in-charge Ankhir police post said.
"We are in the process of gaining information on dumpers plying on this route. A case has been registered against the unidentified driver," he said, adding that the culprits will be brought to justice."
