The Congress party workers staged a demonstration at Lasudiya Mori on Monday to protest against "anti-poor policies of BJP." The sit-in was organised in Sanver assembly constituency which Congress leader Tulsi Silawat represented earlier. Addressing the party workers and voters of Sanver assembly segment which BJP MLA Rajesh Sonekar represents, Silawat said under no circumstances will he allow displacement of poor for construction of MR 12. Indore Development Authority will construct the road.

Former MP Sajjan Singh Verma said Congress party lent land to poor to construct houses, but BJP is uprooting them. Verma and Silawat alleged that MR 12 is being constructed to benefit the builders.

The demonstrators insisted that MR 12 can be diverted and be built from Arandiya bypass to Dianus Park hotel. The road till Talavali Chanda is 80-feet wide. About 30-feet of land can be acquired from both sides to make it 100-feet wide.

This will prevent displacement of thousands of people from Ravidas Nagar and surrounding areas. Later, the demonstrators submitted memorandum to SDM Tagore in this connection.
