Public prosecutor Sanjay Jaiswal said judicial magistrate first class Radhakishan Malviya found Rajawat guilty and imposed a fine of Rs 1,200.

Complainant Rajesh Sahu had lodged a private complaint in Khandwa district court against then Narmada Nagar police station in charge Rajawat in 2008. In the complainant, Sahu said that Rajawat demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from him.

Sahu said that in 2008, he lodged a complaint against some anti-socials selling illicit liquor near a school in Narmada Nagar. But, Rajawat did not take any action.

Later Sahu forwarded the complaint to Indore zone inspector general and police then found that the grievance was true and Rajawat intentionally or otherwise did not take action in the matter.

Punishing him for his negligence, department stopped his one increment due to which Rajawat bore Rs 20,000 loss.

Later, Rajawat started demanding money from Sahu and threatened him of dire consequences. Rajawat also filed a revision in the high court which rejected his plea.
