Former State chief minister and AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh has put a question mark on the Gujarat Forensic Science Laboratory, whose report said that the excel sheets produced by him before high court in the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) recruitment scam, were doctored.
“This is the same laboratory which had been accused of morphing pictures in the Ishrat Jahan murder case and the CBI in its report had recommended that cases be registered against the laboratory officials,” Singh said at a meet the press programme at the Indore Press Club on Thursday.
Singh demanded that the excel sheets given by him as evidence should be checked by any of three National Forensic Science Laboratories in Delhi, Hyderabad or Chandigarh.
Why was the excel sheet given to the Gujarat laboratory and not to any of the three national laboratories? Asked Digvijaya and himself gave the answer by saying, “It was done because the state is under Narendra Modi’s protégé,” he said.
Reiterating his demand to hand over the case to the CBI, Digvijaya said, “How can the STF investigate and act against the chief minister when the confidential report of the STF officers is written by the home minister,” he asked.
Accusing chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of being involved in the scam, Digvijaya said that it is impossible that the chief minister was not in the loop when his own minister, official in the chief minister’s office and several others all close to the chief minister were involved.
Taking a dig at Chouhan for seeking appointment with Sonia Gandhi to complaint against him, Digvijaya said, “Chouhan is desperate and wants to stop me. But I am happy that he was forced to go to Soniaji, against whom he has made so many baseless allegations in the past.”
Singh also questioned the decision of the government to make Raghvendra Singh Tomar as the official approver, ignoring the claims of the students and parents who paid money to get admission.
“My fight is for the students who gave the money. They were victims but are still in jail but Tomar has been made an approver because he is close to the chief minister.”
