Manan Vohra’s 95 got Kings XI Punjab to within sniffing distance of victory but they lost by five runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad on Monday. Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended with career-best IPL figures of 5/19. Earlier, David Warner‘s unbeaten 54-ball 70 guided Sunrisers Hyderabad to 159/6 after losing the toss. There was a mid-innings slump but Naman Ojha’s 34 helped them shake it off and get to a defendable score on a slow pitch. (SCORECARD | STREAMING INFO)

11.50 pm IST: Bhuvneshwar is Man of the Match. “T20 is a format where you expect the unexpected and Manan almost took the game away from us. Athletes always talk about believing in themselves and that’s what I did in the 19th over. I’ve overcome that pressure because I’ve done this job for SRH for last three years. I knew I had to bowl the 19th over, the match-defining over. I believed in myself. I bowled the 16th/17th over, he was in good nick. It wasn’t an easy wicket, it was a great effort from our batsmen who took us to 160. The way we started with the new ball was tremendous. Changing pace really worked for us. If you want to win the match defending 160 you have to take initial wickets, the likes of Maxwell, Miller and Morgan,” said Bhuvi.

11.48 pm IST: Unbelievable game, says David Warner at the presentation ceremony. “Credit to Manan for playing like that. Credit to Bhuvi too, he was unbelievable. Manan made it look easy when he cleared the ropes. He had to dig infor his team. Unfortunately only one team can win. It’s great to have Bhuvi in the shed at the back end and he executed perfectly.”
