Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion wore matching Versace looks at Grammys: Watch viral video to see what happened

Grammy Awards 2022: Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion appeared on the Grammy Awards 2022 stage wearing similar black ensembles by Donatella Versace. Read on to know what happened next and why the video has gone viral online.

Grammy Awards 2022 ceremony, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, had several iconic moments. However, one particular moment left the fashion enthusiasts particularly delighted - we are talking about Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion's diva-off moment at the Grammy Awards. The duo stepped onto the Grammys' stage to present the award for the Best New Artist category and recreated Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey's iconic 1998 MTV VMAs moment.

On Monday (IST), Dua and Megan served the internet with a viral moment as they walked on the stage wearing the same ensembles by Donatella Versace. The two musicians presented the Best New Artist Grammy Awards category, later won by Olivia Rodrigo. Dua even posted the clip on her page and wrote, "An honour to present the best new artist award at @recordingacademy with @theestallion with a special appearance from my fashion fairy godmother @donatella_versace !! ~ congratulations sweeeet girl @oliviarodrigo so deserved."

Diet Prada, a fashion watchdog group, also posted about the viral moment on their Instagram account and pointed out the similarities between the two moments. They wrote, "It's a diva-off! Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion recreate Whitney and Mariah's iconic 1998 MTV VMAs moment at the 2022 Grammys, with a little help from Donatella Versace."

Mariah and Whitney had attended the MTV VMAs in 1998 wearing the same brown Vera Wang dress. The icons had a lighthearted banter over the same on the stage, followed by stripping off the skirts of the ensembles to reveal unique cuts.

Like Whitney and Mariah, Dua and Megan also appeared on stage in similar outfits. The stars wore a spaghetti-strapped black dress with a leather corset and pants underneath. The video shows the duo having fun banter on wearing the same ensembles. Then, Donatella joins them on stage and strips off their skirts to reveal unique cuts on both dresses.

The video received several compliments from netizens, including Vera Wang herself. See a few comments below.
