Dhumavati Jayanti 2022: Every year, the auspicious occasion of Dhumavati Jayanti is celebrated globally by Hindus. Also known as Dhumavati Mahavidya Jayanti, the festival is marked as the day when Goddess Dhumavati, a manifestation of Goddess Shakti, incarnated on Earth. It falls on the eighth day during the Shukla Paksha in the Jyestha month of the Hindu calendar, which means devotees mark this day every year between May and June. People worship Goddess Dhumavati on this day and wish for her blessings. Additionally, the day holds much significance for Hindus, as praying to Goddess Dhumavati is said to relieve all the problems and sins from their life. According to Hindu sacred texts, Goddess Dhumavati is known to be the 7th of the 10 Mahavidyas and the most furious form of Goddess Durga. When is Dhumavati Jayanti 2022?

This year, Dhumavati Jayanti falls on Wednesday, June 8. According to the Panchang, the Ashtami date of Jyeshtha Shukla will start from 07:54 am on June 7 and will continue till 08:30 am on Wednesday, June 8.

Dhumavati Jayanti 2022 Significance And Puja Vidhi:

It is believed that worshipping Goddess Dhumavati on this day helps one fulfil all their wishes and get rid of diseases and poverty from their family. Additionally, worshipping Mata Dhumavati is also believed to bring relief from calamities and victory in war.

On this day, devotees wake up early before the sunrise, worship Goddess Dhumavati with incense sticks, flowers and diyas, and observe a fast. According to Hindu customs, offering black sesame seeds folded in black cloth on this day helps in fulfilling one's desire. Devotees also recite special mantras to seek Goddess Dhumavati's blessings in ending all their miseries. A special procession also takes place during the night, and prasad is prepared for the puja and distributed later to mark the occasion.
