Ram Charan's diet and fitness secrets for toned body at 40: Working out every day for 1.5 hour to dinner at 6pm

Telugu actor Ram Charan turned 40 on March 27. His fitness and diet secrets are quite impressive. To achieve his chiselled physique, the actor follows a rigorous workout routine and a strict diet plan. In an interview on Apollolife.com's January 2019 issue of B Positive, Ram was asked to share how he keeps himself fit and active. He revealed that he does everything from jumping jacks and seated machine presses to military pushups and barbell stiff-leg dead lifts, and eats only home-cooked meals.
‘I eat only home-cooked healthy food’
The actor said, “It is my constant endeavour to maintain a balanced lifestyle. I do regular exercises and prioritise a healthy diet. I also prefer to play some sports every day. I follow an active lifestyle and try to do some sort of vigorous physical activity at least four times a week. I eat only home-cooked healthy food and I try my best to always be peaceful in life... I work out every day for an hour and a half and majorly concentrate on bodyweight exercises.”
Asked to share his take on the importance of diet in maintaining a fit body, he added, “Your fitness depends on 80 percent on your diet, as you are what you eat! A healthy diet is extremely important for a ft body. Therefore, I take a lot of care about my diet regime and avoid certain unhealthy foods... of course, I indulge in cheat meals, every Sunday. However, I ensure that I do not go overboard.”
Ram Charan's diet secrets
Ram's diet plan, which fitness coach Rakesh Udiyar helped create, ensures the actor avoids caffeine, alcohol, sugary drinks, red meat, wheat and even protein shakes.
The actor starts his day with egg whites and full eggs as well as oats and almond milk. It is followed by a mid-day snack of vegetable soup, following which he has chicken breast, brown rice and green vegetable curry for lunch. For evening snacks, the actor favours grilled fish, sweet potato and grilled vegetables; and dinner at 6 pm comprises of a 'large mixed green salad' and some avocados.

Monday: Biceps (must)
Tuesday: Quads
Wednesday: Calves and abs
Thursday: Chest triceps
Friday: Back exercises
Saturday: Hamstring and inner thigh abs
Sunday: Day off (rest)
