Launching a scathing attack on BJP, Rajasthan Congress leaders on Wednesday said that people will not tolerate attempts to divert, hide failures behind bravery and valour of soldiers.

Announcing consensus on “almost” all Lok Sabha seats, the Congress on Wednesday said it will hold over 400 meetings across the state to expose BJP and highlight Gehlot government’s achievements in the last three months.

AICC general secretary and in-charge Rajasthan Avinash Pande said meetings of various election committees were held on Wednesday, where suggestions and feedbacks were taken for election planning. “The state party organisation will hold over 400 public meetings across the state over local issues, failure of BJP and achievement of state congress government,” he said, addressing news persons after holding party’s election coordination committee meeting at state party office.

Launching a scathing attack on BJP, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said in last 70 years they haven’t taken Mahatma Gandhi’s name but are now trying to steal his legacy, which the country will not accept. They had no relation with Gandhi’s policies or his messages, he added. The CM said democracy and the country is in danger as the BJP is trying to win elections by diverting from issues. Congress is asking them to come clean on issues such as farmers, inflation, jobs and Rafale.

State Congress President Sachin Pilot said, “Our party had sounded poll bugle yesterday from Gujarat. The response people gave and the change of mood showed that people want to get rid of this failed government at Centre.”

He said after intense discussions and brainstorming, Congress has come to consensus on almost all seats. “We have tried and gave priority to good, winnable and new faces,” he said.

Hitting at BJP he said Congress will not let BJP to divert from issues such as unemployment, inflation, corruption etc and expose them. “The BJP in Rajasthan is leaderless and in state of confusion. People have appreciated state congress governments decisions and timely action on manifesto. Congress will win with huge mandate and UPA will form government,” he said.

BJP spokesperson Mukesh Pareek said BJP wants to contest polls on issues – the party is entering fray on comparison of 55 years versus 55 months. Unfortunately, Congress and other parties are forgetting national’s interest and started demanding proof from our army, which is totally political and condemnable.
