Congress president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Odisha on March 15 to address a public meeting at Bargarh district where he is likely to raise issues related to agriculture. The last time he visited Bargarh was in 2015. The Congress chief will also interact with health professionals at Hotel Babylon International in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. His campaign is a part of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 which is scheduled to start from April 11 and will go on till May 19.

Bengal Left Front announces names for 25 seats
The Left Front on Friday announced its candidates for 25 of West Bengal’s 42 Lok Sabha seats, including the two seats won by the CPI-M in 2014.
Seventeen seats have been left unannounced, which would be divided between the Left parties and the Congress, Left Front Chairman Biman Bose said in a release.
Among the 25 seats, Left Front major Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) will contest in 15 seats, while the partners - the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB), the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) - will contest in the remaining 10 seats.

BJP likely to release first list of LS polls candidates on Saturday
The BJP is likely to release its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls on Saturday, when its central election committee is scheduled to meet, reported news agency PTI.
The list will have the names of most of the candidates for the first phase of polling, which will be held on April 11 in 91 seats.
The election for 543 parliamentary seats will be held in seven phases till May 19 and the counting of votes will be taken up on May 23.

Apna Dal to contest 2 seats in UP in alliance with BJP: Amit Shah
BJP chief Amit Shah declares that Apna Dal, OBC political outfit which comprises largely of Kurmi sub-caste will contest 2 seats in alliance with BJP. Apna Dal leader and union minister Anupriya Patel, the sitting MP from Mirzapur will contest from Mirzapur. The second seat would be decided in consultation with BJP.
Mirzapur is the first seat in UP that BJP has officially announced.
It is yet to announce any seat for the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, the other OBC political outfit which mainly comprises of Rajbhars, the OBC sub-caste that wield influence in several seats in and around Varanasi, the Lok Sabha constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
63449 hoardings/banners/posters removed in Delhi
