Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsukhinder Singh ‘Bubby’ Badal, a nephew of former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, on Thursday joined the party’s breakaway faction SAD (Taksali).

Party president Ranjit Singh Brahmpura appointed Bubby, who along with his supporters joined the SAD (Taksali) in Chandigarh, as the faction’s state youth unit chief.

Also, a party delegation led by Brahmpura met Punjab chief electoral officer S Karuna Raju and demanded stern action against SAD candidate from Khadoor Sahib Bibi Jagir Kaur for distributing liquor in a rally at Dera Sahib village on Wednesday. On the basis of complaint, Raju sought a report from the field staff and assured action against the guilty.
