Maoists in Gaya urge people to vote out BJP
This is the second instance of Maoists putting posters, urging people to defeat PM Narendra Modi, after the Lok Sabha polls were announced. Last week, similar posters surfaced at Jamui, asking people to ensure that BJP does not come to power for a second term.
The CPI (Maoist) rebels in Bihar’s Left Wing Extremist (LWE) hit Gaya district have exhorted people, especially from the weaker sections, to oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stop his saffron brigade from coming back to power.
Posters urging people not bring back the BJP in power have been put by Maoist groups at Banke Bazar area of Imamganj assembly constituency of Gaya district, on the borders of neighbouring Aurangabad district and Jharkhand. Gaya police have seized the posters and have intensified search operations to nab the Maoists.

Police sources said that Maoist groups are angered over the drive launched against them by the central forces.
In January this year, Maoists had also pasted posters on state government offices in Chakai block of Jamui district and urged people to boycott government works.
Three of the four constituencies in the Magadh division, including Gaya, Aurangabad and Nawada are going to the Lok Sabha polls in the first phase on April 11.
Earlier last week, the Maoist insurgents had allegedly attacked a government school under Lutua police station in Gaya district. The school was slated to be converted to a post for central forces, in order to ensure fair and peaceful elections across the four constituencies of the Magadh division.
A Maoist was gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Bihar’s Nawada district on Monday when a search operation was being conducted in Chordiha forest areas of Rajauli, near the Jharkhand border. The exchange of fire took place at a forest when a team of the CoBRA was out on an anti-Maoist operation.
In view of increased Left Wing Extremist (LWE) activities, district administrations in LWE-hit districts have come up with a blueprint to complete the election process smoothly. Election Commission (EC) has announced a seven -phase poll in Bihar to optimally deploy the central armed police forces (CAPF) so that violence-free polls in LWE hit areas can be conducted. A total of 55 companies of CAPF will arrive in Bihar.
Meanwhile, police headquarters informed that police will ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for political leaders going for campaigning in areas with significant Maoist presence. Besides, Bihar police will also coordinate with the police of neighbouring states to keep a track on activities and movement of Maoists.
