There’s nothing that is more romantic than a fragrant case of perfume. But what do you do with the pretty bottles once your intoxicating mix runs out? Well, there’s actually a lot that you can, and it can light up your room in a jiffy. From centerpieces that double up as a personalised element on your dining table to paper-wrapped bottles that can transform your bedroom into a space riff with vintage vibes — here’s a big dose of inspo!
A CRYSTAL RAINBOW
Boudouir romance is made of these pretty glass or crystal-cut spray bottles. Just fill these in with water infused with drops of your favourite food colour and get hue-high.
LIT WITH FAIRIES
For this one, you need a bottle which has a prominent print or pattern. Use the fairylight lamp trick and drill a hole on the base to connect your mass of tiny lights that can make their home inside the bottle.
PAPERWORK
We loved how YouTube vlogger Patioelf used the art of decoupage (paper craft) to wrap up her old perfume bottles beautifully. Using chalk paint and craft paper, the bottles, which are of different makes, are covered artistically. This one needs practice, but a few tutorials can help.
THE FAUX VASE
Do you have one of those mason jar-high perfume bottles that you have no idea how to use? Well, here’s a fun way to revamp. Just use long-stemmed flowers that can convert the glass bottle into a fun, faux vase. We’d recommend using fresh flowers daily to get the natural perfume going.
CHAMPAGNE CHARM
Here’s a cute way to create a dining table centerpiece that will get your guests talking. Just use a champagne glass or tall flute and perk it up with a strand of pearls and one of those miniature, sample perfume bottles. And, if you’re planning to ask your partner to marry you, a diamond band will complete the piece.

SHIMMER BOMB
You can also create your own perfume bottle from scratch. An old box, a cylindrical cap and two matchboxes to create the perfume top is all you need. Glue, shimmer spray and a print-out tag will complete the job. Check out the YouTube tute by Ann Le or user Annerorshine (below) for a tute.
REMOVING THE ENTIRE ATOMIZER, NOZZLE
The atomiser or the nozzle top of your perfume bottle can be removed with a little practice. If you have a metallic top, after taking off the spray head, use a pair of pliers and a pocket knife to remove the topper completely.
