The Sion-Panvel highway has also seen traffic congestion near Kharghar and Vashi on Monday morning.

“Because of bad shape of the road the vehicular movement on the road was extremely slow near the Kopri bridge in the morning. However, it did not come to a standstill. The situation was normal after 10.30 am,” said Pravin Pandey, police inspector of Kharghar traffic unit.

The area near Moraj Circle off Pam Beach roads also saw serpentine traffic snarls between 7.30 and 8.30 am.

Two fully grown trees fell down at Ghansoli and Airoli on Monday morning. There was also an electric short circuit case at Vashi because of heavy rain. But no one was injured in these accidents.
