A major fire that broke out in the Behrampada slums in Bandra in the wee hours of Wednesday was doused at around 8.40 am, officials from the disaster management department of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) confirmed. The fire, which broke out at around 4.10am, was declared a level-3 (major) fire call. No casualties were reported in the mishap. Ten fire engines and nine water tankers are still present at the spot for cooling operations.
