Mumbai man attacks wife with broken tile, kills her in front of three-year-old son

A man allegedly killed his wife after a heated argument at Ghatla in Chembur on Saturday morning, said police.

The couple’s three-year-old son witnessed the incident and raised an alarm.The Govandi police said Babita Shetty, 29, and her husband Suraj, 35, fought around 10.30 am. Suraj attacked his wife with a broken tile, following which she suffered grievous injuries on her head. He then fled.

“There were frequent skirmishes between the two as Suraj accused her of infidelity,” said a police officer.

The couple has two more children, said police, who have registered a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
