The school bus owners’ association sent messages to parents and schools on Thursday morning.

Mumbai has been experiencing continuous showers for the past few days, potholes have increased on the roads, slowing down traffic in some pockets, said bus owners.

Schools in Andheri East and West will be the worst- affected as the roads are in bad shape there, said owners.

“We have sent messages to the parents that buses will be late, especially in these areas,” said Anil Garg, president of the association.

Blaming the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation for the condition of the roads, he added, “The roads are in terrible condition, we cannot help the delay.”

Some schools said that they had not received any message yet. “Even though it’s raining, our buses are on time,” said Rakhi Mukherjee, principal, Utpal Shanghvi School, Juhu.
