The court directed the authorities to initiate criminal action against those responsible for displaying illegal hoardings, posters and banners.

Meanwhile, it took the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation barely 24 hours to rem-ove more than 5,300 illegal banners, posters and boards across the city on Thursday — a task that its own track record reveals would have otherwise taken a month. In addition, 793 more were pulled do-wn up to Friday morning.
