Female friend jumps from fourth floor
The 30-year-old female friend of Vishal Gambhir, 33, who committed suicide by jumping from the 18th floor of Oberoi Woods in Goregaon (East) earlier in the week, allegedly tried to kill herself on Wednesday.

The woman reportedly jumped from her fourth-floor flat at Four Bungalows, Andheri (West), around 12.30pm, the police said.
She was taken to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. She has sustained multiple fractures and her condition is critical, the police said.
“We are trying to ascertain whether she jumped or fell accidentally. We are waiting for her to gain consciousness as only after her statement is recorded will we be able to find out what happened,” said Vijay Bhoite, senior inspector, DN Nagar police station.
The woman got married over a year ago. She and her husband had rented a house in Four Bungalows.
However, when the contract ended, the couple decided to stay with their respective families, Bhoite said.
“The woman’s parents were at home at the time of the incident,” Bhoite said, adding that they would need to take statements of her family before deciding the course of action.
Although Bhoite didn’t confirm that the woman was the same one present at Gambhir's apartment before he took the deadly leap, additional commissioner of police (north) Ramrao Pawar said it was the same woman.
Gambhir, 28, worked as the vice-president (operations) of multinational private bank.
On Monday, around 3.30pm, he returned to his Goregaon home with the woman. He had consumed liquor and was very frustrated, as he could not marry the woman, the police had said.
Around 6:30pm, he received a call and grew even more upset. He then suddenly jumped from the balcony before the woman could react, the police said.
Gambhir had separated from his wife a few years ago, but was yet to get divorced.
