Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday linked the rise in cases of malaria to the influx of migrants. Blaming the unchecked influx of migrant workers into the city, Raj also slammed the Shiv Sena-ruled BMC for dilly-dallying over the situation.

Speaking at the foundation day of the Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena, the students wing of the party, Raj said, “No one has an idea of who is coming into the city. It’s a free for all just anyone can come in, create more slums and as a result, create more health problems for the city.”
In the same vein, Raj also targeted migrants for crowding the city’s hospitals. “All the city’s hospitals are crowded with these migrants. There’s absolutely no space left for anyone else. Where does the local go, then?”
Raj also targeted the State government over the ‘Best of 5’ fiasco.
