The organisation announced its list of 13 awardees - seven in the field of social work and six for literature - on Wednesday.
Other awardees included writers Anand Teltumbde GK Enapure, V N Shrikhande and activists such as Nilesh Nimkar, Chandrakant Kelkar and Harish Sadani.
“My work is difficult and challenging, and it is an honour to be presented this prestigious award," said Harish Sadani, a gender activist who was one of the recipients of the award in the social work category.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Pune on January 26. Scientist Raghunath Mashelkar and filmmaker Amol Palekar will be present at the ceremony.
